Abstract

Background: One aspect of development that is very important for children is gross motoric. Through gross motoric children are able to do difficult movements and can make movements using coordination from all members of the body. Delays and disturbances in gross motor skills can result in serious personal, social and academic development. Therefore a diagnosis and early intervention are needed. So the authors are interested in providing crank play therapy to improve gross motor skills in pre-school age children. Objective: This case study describes nursing care by applying crank play therapy to improve gross motor skills in preschoolers. Method: Scientific Writing uses a descriptive analytical method of case studies. The subjects were 2 preschoolers (5-6 years) who were given crank play therapy to improve gross motor skills in preschoolers. Results: Engklek play therapy proved to be an effective therapy for improving gross motor skills in pre-school age children Recommendation: Health workers and educators should use play therapy using traditional kris games to improve gross motor skills in pre-school age children
