Abstract
Background : Human being has physical, psychological and social changes as natural aging process. It causes unstable mental condition of self-concept that influences the deterioration of social role to have interaction in family and society. Objective : To explain the correlation between self-consept and social interaction of elderly people at elderly posyandu in Kemukus, Gombong, Kebumen. Method : This study used correlational method with cross-sectional approach. There are 33 samples taken by total sampling. Data is analysed by descriptive analysis and test of correlation using Kendal-thau. Result : The study showed that most respondents (81.8%) have enought selfconcept category and 51.5% of them have enough social interaction. There was correlation between self-concept and social interaction of the elderly people at elderly posyandu in Kemukus, Gombong, Kebumen indicated by p value = 0,001 (<0,05).
