Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition of increasing blood pressure above the normal level. The prevalence of hypertension cases in Kebumen regency in 2017 was 23,735 cases out of 100,700,733. Non-pharmacological therapy can be applied to overcome hypertension by consuming boiled water of binahong leaf. Objective: To find out the application of consuming boiled water of binahong leaves in reducing blood pressure of hypertension clients. Method: This study is a descriptive with a case-study approach. Data was collected from interview, observation, and documentation. Respondents were 3 clients with hypertension. The instrument used was a tensimeter. Result: After having application of consuming boiled water of binahong leaves, there was a decrease in blood pressure of all respondents (from 140/80 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg). Conclusion: Boiled water of binahong leaves can decrease the blood pressure of hypertension clients.
