Abstract

Background : An elderly person can lead to the occurrence of Non- Communicable Diseases (NCD). This is associated with decreased physiological functions in the body due to degenerative processes (aging). One of them is hypertension, which is caused by obesity, genetic factors, and gender factors. For this reason, the role of the family is very important in the function of families who are able to care for sick family members with warm water foot soak therapy in families with elderly hypertension. Objective : To describe the application of warm water foot soak therapy in families with elderly hypertension to stabilize blood pressure Method : The method used in this research is descriptive observation method with a case study approach. The subjects of this case study were 3 families with elderly people suffering from hypertension. Data analysis and data presentation used is using narrative techniques. Result : After the warm water foot soak therapy in families with elderly hypertension for 4 visits. The final result showed that the blood pressure value was in Mrs. M (Mr. S’s family) worth is 134/80 mmHg, Mrs. S (Mr. M’s family) worth is 132/76 mmHg, and Mrs. S (Mr. K’s family) worth is 128/85 mmHg. This shows that warm water foot soak therapy can stabilize blood pressure in hypertension elderly people. Recommendation : Warm water foot soak therapy to stabilize blood pressure in the elderly.
