Abstract

Background: Stroke can cause neurological damage due to total or partial blockage so that it will block blood flow in the brain.. Rehabilitation of stroke patients is one of them by means of active exercise therapy holding a rubber ball. Objective: To describe nursing care by implementing active therapy holding a ball to increase muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Method: The case study used descriptive data collection techniques obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. Respondents were three patients who suffered from stroke. The instruments used are: nursing care format, SOP, and observation sheets. Results: Before being given the intervention of active therapy holding the ball the average muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients was 2. After being given the intervention of active therapy holding the ball the average muscle strength of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients was 3. Conclusion: There is an effect of active therapy holding a rubber ball on muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients in Tanggeran Village, Sruweng District.
