Abstract

Background hypertension is characterized by a continuous increase in blood pressure accompanied by headaches. In reducing headaches, nonpharmacological therapy can be done, namely by providing progressive muscle relaxation therapy. Objective he purpose of this time is to find out how the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in reducing headaches. Methods this study uses descriptive research methods with the same signs and symptoms. Then give progressive muscle relaxation therapy within 3 days in a row to the three respondents. Results in the research that has been done, it was found that the data on the results of the three respondents experienced a decrease in pain with a mild pain outcome scale after therapy. Conclusion progressive muscle relaxation therapy research on the three respondents in Besuki Village gave significant results. Sugesstion for researchers, progressive muscle relaxation therapy needs to be developed for patients with headaches and hypertension in the elderly.
