Abstract

Background of the study : Stroke is a disease of the blood vessels of the brain where clinical signs develop rapidly in the form of focal and global neurologic deficits, which can be severe and last for a long time and occur when there is a blockage or rupture of a blood vessel in the brain. The impact can be paralysis on the sides of the body, especially the face, which causes sufferers to have difficulty communicating. So to overcome this problem, Mirror Therapy exercises can be done. Objective of study : To know the effect of giving Mirror Therapy to improve verbal communication of stroke patients. Method : The study uses descriptive method, that is scientific method which function to describe to object of what will be examined through some data collections which have been present. Result of the study: After the implementation of Mirror Therapy exercises to improve verbal communication in stroke patients, the results showed that there was an increase in patient one from 4 to 19, patient two from 5 to 19, patient three from 5 to 20. Conclusion : According to the research, Mirror Therapy giving can increase the verbal communication of the stroke patients. Recommendation : Mirror Therapy giving implementation can be used to increase verbal communication of the stroke patients.
