Abstract

Background: In Asia, perineal lacerations are a considerable problem in society, 50% of the incidence of perineal ruptures in the world. In Indonesia, 24% of maternity mothers aged 25 to 30 years and 62% of maternity mothers aged 32 to 39 years reported having perineal lacerations. The goal of perineal massage was to increase the perineum's elasticity and blood flow. In addition to perineal massage, pelvic rocking was used to speed up the opening's dilatation, lessen pain, and assist in lowering the fetus's head to the pelvic floor. Purpose: Implementing Perineal Massage and Pelvic Rocking to decrease the number of perineal tears in maternity mothers at PMB Sri Wiwik Ismurtini S.ST. Method: The data collection methods used in this type of descriptive qualitative research were primary and secondary data. Participants in this care were pregnant women with a gestational age of more than 36 weeks, as many as 3 participants matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instruments used are perineal and pelvic rocking massage videos, gym balls, observation sheets. Results: After receiving perineal massage during pregnancy and pelvic rocking no one in the three participants experienced perineal tears during delivery, indicating that these techniques were very effective in preventing perineal tears. Conclusion: Performing perineal massage during pregnancy and pelvic rocking in maternity mothers can reduce the risk of perineal tears.
