Abstract

Background: auditory hallucinations are the most common perceptual disturbance experienced by patients, patients with auditory hallucinations are often seen talking to themselves, and even doing something dangerous. Music therapy is a therapy that uses music to maintain or improve mental, physical, emotional, and social needs. Purpose: to provide an overview of nursing care for clients with perceptual disorders: hallucinations by using music therapy. Methods: This scientific paper using descriptive method for 7 meetings with a time of 10-30 minutes to the three clients using data collection instruments in case studies with interviews, data analysis, implementation interventions, evaluations. At the interview stage, they ask for self-identity, signs and symptoms of hallucinations, and provide music therapy with the available tools, using the Hallucinating signs and symptoms form, music therapy ability sheets and music therapy SOP. Results: Evaluations were carried out for a decrease in signs and symptoms of hallucinations in client 1, a score of 10 became 3 (difference 7), client 2 scored 10 to 2 (difference 8) and client 3 scored 10 to 3 (difference 7). As well as the ability of music therapy to the three clients before being given therapy with a score of 1 and after being given therapy it became 6 (difference of 5) Recommendation: music therapy can be used for clients with sensory perception disorders: hallucinations and can be applied at the Dosaraso halfway house or when the client has returned home.
