Abstract
Backgroud: Accute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a disease that is often suffered by toddler. ARI can cause some problems. One of the problems is sleep disorder. This may cause unqualified sleep. Sleep is important for the growth and development of toddler. If a child does not sleep enough and well, he will get tired easily. This will make him so fussy and easily to cry. It is also difficult for him to understand the circumstances around it. Besides, it can also decrease the level of intelligence and concentration. The memory is weakening and there will be cognitive disturbance. Consequently, he becomes more aggressive, hyperactive, and uncooperative. Therefore, sleep disorder needs to be overcome so as not to disturb the growth and development of toddler. Objective: To overcome sleep disorder of a toddler during the suffer of acute respiratory infections (ARI). Method: This scientific paper uses qualitative descriptive with case study type. The data collection of this case study was conducted by collecting secondary data and primary data. Whereas the data processing was done by using three different kinds of methods – reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Results: After being given honey ginger herbal drink during 5 days (with the dose of 100 ml every 30 minutes before bedtime), N is gradually able to sleep comfortably and soundly. This happened simultaneously with ARI symptoms, such as cough, runny nose and itchy throat which are also getting fine. Conclusion: Honey ginger herbal drink is really able to help a toddler sleep comfortably and soundly. Therefore sleep disorders can be overcome.
