Abstract
Background: In developing countries like Indonesia, neonatal jaundice affects about 50% of normal newborns and 80% of premature babies. Complications that occur if not treated immediately are the child will experience seizures, and in the long term the child may experience neurological deformities such as speech disorders, mental retardation and deafness. One of the variables that may affect neoantorum jaundice is the type of delivery. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between the type of delivery and the incidence of icterus neonatorum at Emanuel Banjarnegara Hospital. Research Method: This research is an observational analytic research. The independent variable in this study was the type of delivery and the dependent variable in this study was the incidence of icterus neonatorum. The population in this study amounted to 110 neonates with a total sample of 53 neonates. Results: Most of the types of deliveries at Emanuel Banjarnegara Hospital were performed by SC (58,5%), most of the births at Emanuel Banjarnegara Hospital were without icterus neonatorum (52,8%). The Chi Square test findings that type of delivery and the incidence of icterus neonatorum have a p value of 0,001. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the type of delivery and the incidence of icterus neonatorum at Emanuel Banjarnegara Hospital. Recommendations for future researchers: Future researchers can use this study as a reference, and it is best to increase the sample size and number of respondents to get the most complete and accurate results of incidence of icterus neonatorum.
