Abstract
Background: Iron Nutrition Anemia (AGB) is one of the main nutritional problems in Indonesia. This happens to and suffered by fertile-age women (WUS), pregnant mothers and also postpartum moters. One of the ways how to overcome this problem is by giving Fe tablet. It will be more effective if given together with other micro multiple nutritient. Many pregnant mothers do not know how to improve hemoglobin. The writer, therefore, is interested in giving vitamin C, Fe tablet and sweet potato leaves to know the change of hemoglobin level. Objective: Application of consuming vitamin C, Fe tablet, and sweet potato leaves to know the change of hemoglobin level before and after the application. Method: This scientific paper applys analytical descriptive method. In this case the writer describes the facts of the assessment obtained through interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The study was conducted from March 24-May 4, 2017. Result: The application of giving vitamin C, Fe tablet, and sweet potato leaves was given to five participants during 30 consecutive days. The first participant got a change in Hemoglobin (Hb) from the Hb concentration of 10.4 g/dL to 11.6 g/dL. The second participant got a change in the increase of Hb level (from10.2 g/dL to 11.2 g/dL). The third participant got an increase of Hb level (from 10.9 g/dL to 13.1 g/dL). The fourth participant got a change in Hb level (from Hb 9.5 g/dL to 11.1 g/dL). And the fifth participant experienced a change in Hb level – the increase was from 8, 0 g/dL to 12.4 g/dL. Conclusion: Application of giving vitamin C, Fe tablet, and sweet potato leaves can increase Hemoglobin (Hb) level of pregnant mothers with anemia in the third trimester.
