Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease in which systolic blood pressure exceeds normal (>140 mmHg). The symptom that often appears is headache caused by vascular damage to blood vessels. Non-pharmacological therapy Light Massage can reduce blood pressure by relaxes and relaxes stiff muscles and dilates blood vessels and facilitates blood flow, so that blood pressure drops gradually. Objective: To describe nursing care for hypertensive patients with acute pain problems using light massage therapy. Methods: The study used a case study description method that describes the results in a narrative. The criteria for respondents included patients with blood pressure <140/90 mmHg, complaints of mild to moderate head pain, composure and age >40 years, cooperative patients and willing to become case study subjects. Research data were obtained from blood pressure monitor pain scale before and after therapy. Results: There was a decrease in blood pressure by an average of 10 mmHg after therapy and the pain scale decreased by an average of 4. Recommendation: This therapy is easy to do independently because there are no negative effects and it is effective in reducing headache pain.
