Abstract

Background: A cesarean section (SC) is a surgical procedure to deliver a baby by making an incision to open the abdominal wall and uterine wall or a hysterotomy to remove the fetus from the mother's womb. One non-pharmacological therapy that can be used is endorphin massage. Endorphin massage is a light massage therapy that can stimulate the body to release endorphins, which are pain relievers and can create a sense of comfort through skin surface contact. Objective: To describe nursing care for post-cesarean section patients with acute pain in the Rahma Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Results: The nursing evaluation of the five respondents over 3 days showed that the nursing problem of acute pain related to physical injury agents (SC surgery procedure) was resolved. Patients who experienced severe pain (7-9) and moderate pain (4-6) had their pain scale reduced to mild pain (1-3). Recommendations: It is recommended that future researchers study the use of endorphin massage therapy to reduce pain scale in mothers during the first stage of labor.
