Abstract

Background: High blood pressure conditions can cause other health problems such as physical and psychological problems of the patient. One of the non- pharmacological therapies in an effort to reduce anxiety due to hypertension is by applying five-finger therapy. General objectives: To analyze the nursing care of hypertensive patients with anxiety through five-finger hypnosis therapy combined with audio-visual therapy listening to salawat at Hj Anna Lasmanah Banjarnegara Hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive case study design on 5 hypertensive patients by applying five-finger hypnosis. The anxiety measurement instrument used the DASS Questionnaire (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42). Nursing care results: Assessment of patients is mostly elderly with ages 52 - 75 years. The decrease in anxiety during the intervention in 4 days obtained the lowest average of 23.33% and 38,30,28%. The average reduction in symptoms over 4 days was found to be the highest at 80% and the lowest at 65%.. Conclusion: There is an effectiveness of 5-finger hypnosis with a combination of audio visual listening to salawat in reducing the anxiety of hypertensive patients. Recommendation: Innovative nursing interventions in reducing hypertension patient anxiety with five-finger hypnosis can be used as a Hospital SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
