Abstract
Background: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-related hypertensive condition that manifests with high blood pressure (systolic and diastolic ≥140/90 mmHg) and proteinuria, characterized by elevated levels of protein in the urine. A knowledge deficit occurs when an individual lacks cognitive information about a specific topic. To address this, health education can be provided to increase knowledge. Objective: To describe nursing care for pregnant women with preeclampsia, focusing on the nursing problem of knowledge deficit at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital. Method: This scientific paper utilizes a case study approach to assess whether health education interventions can improve the knowledge of pregnant women with a knowledge deficit. The study follows the nursing process as its framework. Results: The main nursing problem identified was a knowledge deficit. Nursing interventions included 30-minute health education sessions over two days. Evaluation of the five patients revealed that their knowledge improved to a reasonable level after the educational intervention. Conclusion: Providing health education significantly influenced the knowledge deficit in pregnant women with preeclampsia. All five participants showed increased knowledge regarding preeclampsia after the intervention.
