Abstract
Background: One of the causes of maternal and neonatal death in Indonesia is the long-term share of 42.96%. Pelvic Rocking is a non-pharmacological method using birthing ball by shaking the pelvis on the top of the ball. It is done to make the pelvis wider and to allow the uterus to work as efficiently as possible. In other words, this kind of method can stimulate dilatation of the opening and widening the outlet of the pelvis. Objective: To provide a labor mehod by applying Pelvic Rocking technique using irthing ball. It is done to identify the progress and duration of the labor, to know the going down of the head and the dilatation of opening by using Pelvic Rocking technique using birthing ball. Method: This study uses descriptive analytic method by describing facts taken from the assessment obtained from interviews and direct observation. There are 3 participants during the first stage of labor conducted in March-April 2017. Result: After having Pelvic Rocking with birthing ball on 3 participants during the first stage of labor, they had progress in labor faster than normal delivery. The going down of the head was faster. The dilatation of the opening was faster than the normal opening. Conclusion: Pelvic Rocking using birthing ball can shorten the duration of the labor process, accelerate the going down of the head and can also dilate the opening.
