Abstract

Background: Children aged 3-5 years need stimulus in fine motor skills by doing brain gymnastics or brain gym, which aims to stimulate the development of all parts of the brain, including the right brain and left brain so that the data works in a balanced manner to stimulate the emotional system and fine motor movements of children. Aim: To analyze the effect of brain gymnastics on fine motor development of children aged 3-5 years at Paud Harapan Bunda Gemeksekti Village. Method: This type of research is a quantitative research with a project-based approach using the pre-post test design method. Data collected from 10 children aged 3-5 years was carried out 3 times a week for 2 weeks at Paud Harapan Bunda Gemeksekti Village using observation sheets and developmental pre-screening questionnaires. Result: Children who experience slow fine motor development are at most 60 months old (30%) and 48 months old (30%). Fine motor development before brain exercises. Fine motor development before brain gymnastics was in the category of deviation and doubtful after gymnastics experienced an increase in score to normal and deviant category. There is an effect of brain gymnastics on fine motor development in children aged 3-5 years at Paud Harapan Bunda Gemeksekti Village with a p value of 0.004<0.05. Recommendation: Brain exercises can be a program that is carried out regularly to improve fine motor skills in children.
