Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a public health threat. The success rate of eradicating mosquito larvae is still low in Grogolbeningsari Village, with only 75.9% of homes being free from mosquito larvae. Of the 1,076 houses inspected, 259 were found to have mosquito larvae, and 817 were free of larvae. Knowledge level and preventive behavior are crucial to reducing transmission risk. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between the knowledge level of DHF and preventive behavior against DHF. Methods: This quantitative study used a correlational method with a cross-sectional approach. A total sample of 92 respondents was selected using a random sampling technique. Results: The findings showed that the community's knowledge level of DHF was categorized as good, with 53 respondents (57.6%). Preventive behavior against DHF was also categorized as good, with 37 respondents (40.2%). Based on the Chi-Square test, a p-value of 0.031 was obtained, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Conclusion:There is a relationship between the knowledge level of DHF and preventive behavior against DHF. Recommendations:This study should further develop questionnaires on knowledge levels and observation sheets on preventive behaviors against DHF. Additionally, it is recommended to develop more effective communication strategies.
