Abstract

Background: Stunting is a serious nutritional problem, characterized by stunted growth. Referring to WHO data, the prevalence of stunting increased to 22% globally or 149.2 million in 2020. However, there has been a decrease in the prevalence of stunting nationally, the findings of the 2022 National Nutrition Survey (SSGI) show a decrease from 24.4% in 2021 to 21.6% in 2023. This of course remains a challenge to maintain the reduction rate, and is one of the directions in order to produce the golden generation of 2045. Objective: Knowing the effect of stunting prevention education on the level of knowledge of prospective brides at KUA Gombong District. Method: This research method used a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. Sampling was done using a purposive sampling technique, and a sample of 40 prospective brides who were going to get married at the KUA Gombong District was obtained. A stunting prevention knowledge questionnaire, which had been declared valid and reliable, was used. The Wilcoxon bivariate test was employed to analyze the data. Results: Knowledge of prospective brides before being given education is in the moderate category, and becomes a good category after being given an intervention in the form of stunting prevention education. There is an effect of stunting prevention education on the level of knowledge of prospective brides at KUA Gombong District (Wilcoxon test results) p = 0.000 or p <0.05 and it is said that these results are statistically significant. Conclusion: There is an effect of stunting prevention education on the level of knowledge of prospective brides at KUA Gombong district. Rekomendation: Further researchers can conduct research by adding various types of media and educational methods.
