Abstract

Background: Hypertension is an abnormal increase in blood pressure in the arteries over a prolonged period, with systolic pressure exceeding 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure below 90 mmHg. Blood supply carrying oxygen and nutrients encounters difficulties in reaching body tissues. One non-pharmacological therapy that can help control blood pressure and pain in hypertensive patients is autogenic relaxation therapy and hydrotherapy. Objective: To describe nursing care for clients by applying autogenic relaxation therapy and hydrotherapy to reduce blood pressure and pain in hypertensive clients in Sidoharum Village, Sempor District. Method: This scientific paper presented a case study involving three respondents with a history of hypertension in Sidoharum Village, which was conducted over a period of three days. An evaluation sheet was used to assess the reduction in pain experienced by the respondents. Results: After receiving autogenic relaxation therapy and hydrotherapy for three days, the patients experienced a reduction in pain. Recommendation: The application of autogenic relaxation therapy and hydrotherapy can help reduce pain in hypertensive patients and can be independently practiced at home.
