Abstract

School canteen inspection is an activity aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of food and beverages served to school members. School canteens play a vital role in providing healthy and nutritious food for school members, especially students, so comprehensive inspections are necessary to minimize the risk of foodborne diseases and increase awareness of the importance of hygiene and sanitation. The purpose of school canteen inspection is to ensure that school canteens meet established health standards and to increase awareness among school members, especially students, to choose healthy food. Thus, school canteen inspection can contribute to improving the quality of life of students and creating a safe and healthy school environment. The results of the school canteen inspection at SMPN 27 Purworejo and SMPN 08 Purworejo showed that the canteen at SMPN 27 Purworejo did not meet the requirements as a healthy canteen, while the canteen at SMPN 08 Purworejo met the requirements as a healthy canteen. The factor that affected SMPN 27 Purworejo's canteen not meeting the requirements as a healthy canteen was the hygiene and sanitation in the area.
