Abstract

Background: Hypertension as a chronic disease, has a high prevalence rate in Indonesia and can cause serious complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure , hypertension is also known as "The Silent Killer". Objective: To determine the factors that influence compliance with treatment of hypertension patients at Karanganyar Health Center, Kebumen . Method: This study is a quantitative study with a correlational design and uses a cross-sectional approach . Sampling using the total sampling method. A total of 57 hypertension patients who participated in the chronic disease management program (Prolanis) were recruited as respondents. The variables studied included age, gender, knowledge, access to health services, family support, motivation, and the role of health workers . The research instrument used demographic data and questionnaire sheets . Data analysis used chi square . Results: Most respondents had a high level of compliance with treatment (68.4%). Factors such as good knowledge (89.5%), easy access to health services (82.5%), family support (78.9%), and high motivation (64.9%) played a significant role in supporting treatment compliance. Conclusion: This study provides important implications for the role of health workers and families in improving medication adherence to reduce the risk of hypertension complications. Recommendation: Further research requires qualitative or quasi-experimental methods related to compliance of hypertension patients in undergoing treatment.
