Abstract

Background: Latent tuberculosis infection is a condition in which a person is infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis but does not show symptoms. According to the 2020-2024 tuberculosis control strategy, the Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy program is one of the key strategies for controlling tuberculosis. Objective: To describe the adherence to tuberculosis preventive therapy in the Karanganyar Public Health Center area. Methods: This study is a descriptive quantitative study that illustrates health phenomena using numerical data. The research design is descriptive-analytic. The sampling method used was total sampling, with 31 respondents undergoing tuberculosis preventive therapy. The variables studied included age, education, and medication adherence. The research instruments consisted of secondary data and a questionnaire. Data was analysis univariate. Result : The study found that the majority of respondents had a high level of adherence to treatment (41.9%). Most respondents were aged >45 years (41.9%) and had a high school/vocational education background (38.7%). Regarding medication adherence, 41.9% of respondents demonstrated a high level of adherence to tuberculosis preventive therapy. Conclusion: The study results indicate that most respondents demonstrated a high level of adherence to tuberculosis preventive therapy (41.9%). Recommendation: This study is expected to provide insights into the adherence to tuberculosis preventive therapy and serve as a reference for future research on factors influencing the success of tuberculosis preventive therapy.
