Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a major health problem in the elderly that increases the risk of cardiovascular complications. Physical activity plays an important role in lowering blood pressure by increasing blood vessel elasticity and improving cardiovascular function, but often decreases in the elderly due to physical limitations and sedentary lifestyles. Objective: This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between daily physical activity and the prevalence of hypertension in the elderly population in the Karanganyar Health Center service area. Methods: This study uses quantitative research correlation design with a cross sectional approach. The sample used was 58 respondents selected using total sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaires, and data were analyzed using Chi Square. Results: The results of the study obtained regarding the relationship between physical activity and blood pressure are significant. With the results obtained p-value = 0.003 <α = 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between Physical Activity and Blood Pressure in Hypertension Patients in the Karanganyar Health Center work area. Conclusions: Further researchers are expected to be able to analyze other factors related to blood pressure. Recommendation: For the next researcher is expected to analyze factors related to low verbal violence with mental health
