Abstract

Background : Diabetes Mellitus is a common condition affecting pancreatic function. Diabetes mellitus affects 2.0% of those aged 15 and up, or 713,783 persons. Central Java Province has a prevalence of 2.1%, or approximately 96,794 persons. Diabetic ulcers are the condition that diabetics fear the most. Diabetes sufferers' knowledge is crucial for self-care and ulcer prevention. Objective: The aim of this research is to determine knowledge about diabetes prevention at Aghisna Medika Hospital. Methods: This is a descriptive study using a cross-sectional method. The samples were obtained from 60 diabetic patients employing a total sampling method. Bivariate analysis with univariate tests. Results: Respondents aged 46-55 years included 30 (50%) females, 39 (65%) with completed high school education, 21 (35%), and 56 (93.3%) with DM for < 5 years. In the good group, 30 people (50% knew about ulcer prevention). Conclusion: At Aghisna Medika Kroya Hospital, the majority of knowledge on ulcer prevention in diabetic patients is good. Recommendation: Hospitals should strengthen ulcer prevention education.
