Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood, which is the time when a person reaches maturity in mental, emotional, physical, and social. Five teenagers have problems with mental health, where they will face many changes that occur emotionally, these changes will be more related to mood changes such as anxiety, depression, stress and psychological. Some ways to manage mental health are by implementing self-help group (SHG) therapy. Objective: Describing Nursing Care at the Adolescent Development Stage with Nursing Problems of Family Coping Inability Using Self Help Group (SHG) Therapy in Gombong Village. Methods: This scientific paper uses a descriptive research type in the form of a case study. The number of samples taken is 5 respondents. The instruments used are the family nursing care format, Self Rating Questionnaire (SRQ), observation sheets, and standard operating procedures for actions. The action taken is to use self help group (SHG) therapy for 2 weeks. Results: The nursing problem in this scientific work is Family Coping Inability. The intervention used is self-help group (SHG) therapy. Implementation was carried out for 2 weeks with 3 face-to-face meetings, with each meeting with each client lasting around 30-45 minutes. The results of the nursing evaluation of the five families were that there was an increase in the quality of adolescent mental health. Recommendation: The results of the innovation of providing self-help group (SHG) therapy show that this innovation is effective in improving the quality of mental health in adolescents.
