Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition of systolic blood pressure >140 mmHg and diastolic >90 mmHg. The most common sign and symptom of hypertension is headache. Efforts that can reduce pain are Benson relaxation techniques and murottal therapy. Objective: To analyze nursing care for pain in hypertensive patients with Benson relaxation techniques and murottal therapy in the Emergency Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive case study design in 5 hypertensive patients by applying Benson relaxation techniques and murottal therapy with a pain scale. Nursing Care Results: The results of the assessment of hypertensive patients with the main complaint of headache with a moderate to severe scale. The main nursing diagnosis is acute pain related to physiological injury agents. Nursing interventions with pain assessment, measuring vital signs, providing Benson relaxation techniques and murottal therapy. The implementation carried out was identifying the pain scale, measuring vital signs, providing Benson relaxation techniques and murottal therapy. The results of the evaluation were a decrease in the pain scale of 1-3 after being given Benson relaxation techniques and murottal therapy. Recommendation: The results of this study are one of the patient's independent actions to reduce the pain scale.
