Abstract

Background : Death number is one of indicator for exam quality service in hospital. The High Death number in emergency department can make legal problems to the hospital. Risk factors that influence death number is age, gender, and medic diagnosis. Objective : To know risk factors that inluence patient death number in emergency department of dr.Soedirman Kebumen Hospital. Method : This research uses quantitative study with analytic descriptive method and retrospective design. This research uses total sampling technic. After got the data, we use bivariate analysis with Chi Square. Results : The research results of 123 patients from medical record data that statistic tests are age p = 0,004 , sex p = 0,565 , diagnosis p = 0,667. Conclusion : age influence death number, whereas sex and diagnosis not influence death number. Recommendation : This research results are expected can be use for base of the next researches , and it s better to use prospective research design specifically about quality and effectivity of service and hndling.
