Abstract
Background: The number of cesarean section (sectio caesarea) procedures performed between January and October 2024 was recorded at 236 cases. In October 2024, there were 51 post-cesarean section patients. Of these, 41 patients underwent early mobilization in October 2025, which led to faster wound healing (< 7 days). Although 10 patients did not undergo early mobilization, their wounds still required more than 7 days to heal. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of early mobilization on wound healing in post-cesarean section patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Amanah Sumpiuh Hospital. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design. The sample was obtained using a total sampling technique, consisting of 50 participants. The sample was divided into two groups: an intervention group (25 participants) and a control group (25 participants). Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for within-group comparisons and the Mann–Whitney U test for between-group comparisons. Results: There was no significant difference in wound healing before and after mobilization in the control group (p = 0.07). However, a significant difference was observed in the intervention group before and after early mobilization (p < 0.001). A significant difference in wound healing outcomes was also found between the intervention and control groups (p = 0.005). Conclusion: Early mobilization is effective in enhancing wound healing in post-cesarean section patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Amanah Sumpiuh Hospital. Recommendation:Nurses are encouraged to implement early mobilization interventions for post-cesarean section patients to accelerate the wound healing process.
