Abstract

Background: Psychiatric disorders are defined as psychological syndromes or patterns of behavior that are clinically significant and present in the individual himself. Self-care deficits are present in every mental health nursing problem and have the potential to arise in every patient with such a psychiatric illness. Objective: To find out the picture of psychiatric nursing care in patients with selfcare deficit with the application of generalist therapy SP 1-4 in the al-afiyat room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This scientific work uses a case study approach on the approach of patients with self-care deficits. The nursing care process was carried out for 5 days by providing SP 1-4 generalist therapy for 5 meetings. The measurement of signs and symptoms is measured using a sign and symptom instrument. Results: The results of nursing care showed the most reduction in signs and symptoms of self-care deficit in patient III, which was with a score decrease of 100%. And the improvement of the ability of the five patients got a score of 100%, that is, all patients were able to do personal hygiene: bathing, shampooing, brushing teeth, and dressing independently. Conclusions: SP 1-4 generalist therapy performed during 5x meetings in patients with self-care deficits may decrease the signs and symptoms of self-care deficit.
