Abstract

Background: Fractures are disorders that occur in bones caused by trauma. The presence of a force in the body, namely stress, physical disorders, metabolic disorders, pathologies accompanied by a decrease in the ability of the muscles that support the bones, whether open or closed. According to the World Health Organization, the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020 noted that the incidence of fractures was increasing, with fractures recorded in approximately 13 million people with a prevalence rate of 2.7%. According to 2018 Riskesdas data, it was found that there were 92,976 incidents of falls involving fractures, namely 5,144 people (Ministry of Health RI. 2018 Baskara, 2022). Methods for dealing with pain can be pharmacological and non-pharmacological. The non- pharmacological method that is often used to treat pain is distraction techniques. The distraction technique can be done using Murottal Al-Qur'an Ar Rahman verses 1- 78. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of Al Qur'an murottal therapy on the intensity of post-operative pain in upper extremity fractures. Method: This type of research design is case study research. The number of samples in this study was 5 people. Results: Analysis by looking at the results of observations before and after carrying out murottal Al Qur'an therapy for 25 minutes every day for 3 days, the average reduction in pain scale was 1-2. The results of the analysis showed a decrease in the pain scale before and after the intervention. Recommendation: Murottal therapy from the Qur'an Surah Ar Rahman verse 1- 78 is able to reduce pain in post-operative patients with upper extremity fractures.
