Abstract
Background: Hallucinations are a form of disturbance in the sensory perception system, in which individuals experience the perception of stimuli through one or more of the five senses, even though there is no real stimulus from the external environment that triggers the perception. One intervention that can be applied in an effort to control hallucinations is through the provision of daily activity schedule therapy that can be followed by patients. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the implementation of daily scheduled activities in controlling signs and symptoms in patients hallucinations. Methods: This study used project-based learning (PjBL) method. The research subjects were 5 hallucination patients. The instruments used include Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS), implementation strategy (SP), and daily activity schedule therapy. Prior to the creation of scheduled activity therapy, the patient first knows SP 1 - SP 3 related to how to control hallucinations. After the patient made a daily activity schedule, observation was carried out for 3 days to determine the effectiveness of making scheduled activities in controlling hallucinations. Results: The study showed a decrease in signs and symptoms of hallucinations and an improved ability to control hallucinations. The greatest reduction in signs and symptoms occurred in patients 3 and 4 with a reduction of seven symptoms. Patient 1 had a decrease of two symptoms, patient 2 had a decrease of three symptoms and patient 5 had a decrease of five symptoms. Improvement in the ability to control hallucinations reached 75% in patients 1 and 2, while patients 3, 4, and 5 experienced an increase of 50%. Conclusion: Daily activity schedule therapy is effective in reducing signs and symptoms of hallucinations. Decreased signs and symptoms of hallucinations can improve the patient's ability to control hallucinations. Recommendation: Further case studies are needed to explore the factors that influence the effectiveness of daily activity schedule therapy in hallucination patients.
