Abstract

Background: One of the stages of family development is an adult family. Age is one of the factors related to the incidence of diabetes mellitus. From Rowokele Community Health Center sources, the number of DM sufferers in Rowokele District is 479, of which 50 are in Redisari village. For DM sufferers, the role and support of family really determines the success of treatment. However, there are still many families who have not been able to regulate the eating patterns or diet of Diabetes Mellitus patients and have not separated the patient's food from the food of other family members. General Objective: To describe family nursing care at the development stage of adult families with ineffective family health management problems in Redisari village, Rowokele subdistrict. The results of nursing care, the results of the assessment of the five clients, said that the family did not know about the care for family members affected by DM, such as taboos and what needed to be eaten. The nursing problem is that family health management is ineffective. The actions taken were: support for decision making and provision of diabetic foot exercises for 8 days. Action results: after 8 days of meetings, it showed that before being given diabetic foot exercises, the average blood sugar of patients was 271. Meanwhile, after being given diabetic foot exercises, the average blood sugar of patients was 241. Recommendation: The results of this case study are expected to provide an alternative solution to overcome ineffective family health management through diabetic foot exercises to reduce blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes sufferers.
