Abstract

Background: The quality of inpatient services is crucial for ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. In Indonesia, incidents of injury and patient dissatisfaction remain notably high. The implementation of Patient Service Manager (PSM) instruments has proven effective in enhancing service quality, though several challenges persist. Further research and continuous improvement efforts are necessary in hospitals to optimize service outcomes. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the implementation of Patient Service Manager (PSM) instruments and the quality of inpatient services at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng. Methods: This study utilized a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 100 patients was selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Both univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted, employing Kendall's Tau test for hypothesis testing. Results: At RS PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng, the majority of respondents were female (50%) and within the middle adult age range (36-55 years) at 57%. The implementation of Patient Service Manager (PSM) instruments was rated as good by 59% of patients, while the quality of inpatient services was rated as good by 77% of patients. The analysis revealed a significant relationship between the implementation of PSM instruments and the quality of inpatient services, with a p-value of 0.004. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the implementation of Patient Service Manager (PSM) instruments and the quality of inpatient services at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng. Recommendations: Continuous efforts are needed to improve the implementation of PSM instruments to further enhance the quality of inpatient services. Additionally, evaluations and further training for service staff should be conducted to address existing challenges.
