Abstract
Background : Typhoid fever in Indonesia is recorded at 1.7% where the rate is high in the age group 5-14 (1.9%) followed by age 1-4 years (1.6%). And in a study at RSU Siaga Medika Banyumas, 6 out of 10 patients with typhoid fever in children prefer to directly provide pharmacological therapy such as paracetamol rather than nonpharmacological therapy such as external cooling. Objective : Describe the intervention of warm water foot soak to reduce children's body temperature during fever. Method : This scientific work uses a descriptive case study design. Case study approach to 5 typoid pediatric patients who experience hyperthermia. Actions taken to provide external cooling coloboration therapy warm water foot soak and to measure temperature using a digital thermometer. Nursing Care Outcomes : The nursing problem that arose in the five patients was hyperthermia. The intervention carried out is external cooling warm water foot soak. From the results of the implementation obtained, the patient experienced a decrease in body temperature after warm water footbath therapy with an average temperature drop of 1.12°C. Recommendation : It is hoped that external cooling colloboration therapy of warm water foot soak can be applied when treating typoid fever children with hyperthermia.
