Abstract

Background: A healthy eating pattern plays an essential role in maintaining nutritional status and health. Nursing students are expected to be role models in applying good eating habits. Objectives: This study aimed to describe healthy eating patterns among second-year nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong. Methods: This research used a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 158 students, and 114 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire based on the Balanced Nutrition Guidelines (Ministry of Health, 2018) and analyzed using univariate analysis and presented in frequency and percentage distributions. Results: Results showed that most respondents were 20 years old (57%) and female (71.1%). A total of 66.6% had healthy eating patterns, while 33.4% did not. Conclusion: It can be concluded that most students have applied healthy eating habits, but improvement in meal regularity and food variety is still needed. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to conduct further studies focusing on the factors that influence healthy eating patterns among students from different study programs at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong
