Abstract

Background: The family is the smallest unit of a nation within a country. A family is not only a collection of individuals who have a spiritual bond through marriage and live in the same house, but also has a vision and mission and works together for the common progress of the family. The developmental stage of old age begins when a husband or wife dies and continues until both die. The process of old age and retirement is a condition that must be passed through, at this stage a person will feel the loss of income, social relationships, work, and decreased productivity and bodily functions. According to the Central Statistics Agency of Kebumen Regency, in 2023, there were 33.54 men and 35.51 women with elderly people. The number of hypertension cases has increased, reaching 48,921 in 2022, based on the health profile of Kebumen Regency. General objective: To analyze nursing care provided to hypertensive patients who experience problems in family health management. Method: Using qualitative descriptive, a case study was conducted in Pagebangan Village, Karanggayam District, Kebumen Regency with 5 respondents in 5 meetings with 1 assessment followed by 4 implementations and evaluations, with a frequency of 2 times a day, a time contract of 5-10 minutes according to SOP. Nursing care results: Data analysis from five elderly respondents revealed the same problem, namely Ineffective Family Health Management. The intervention given to clients with hypertension was Deep Tissue Massage. The implementation of Deep Tissue Massage was carried out twice a day for four consecutive days, with massages lasting for 10 minutes. Evaluation of the five clients with hypertension, after Deep Tissue Massage, there was a decrease in blood pressure in clients with systolic blood pressure of 19 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 13 mmHg. Recommendation: The results of the implementation that has been carried out by researchers show a decrease in blood pressure in hypertension sufferers, it is hoped that this innovation can be applied in providing family nursing care in health services
