Abstract

Background : Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in Indonesia, particularly non-hemorrhagic stroke, which often results in motor strength impairment. Untreated muscle weakness may lead to contractures, reduced daily activity, and permanent disability. Research Objective : This study aims to analyze nursing care with an innovative intervention of rubber ball handgrip therapy to improve motor strength in stroke patients at Bougenvil Ward, KRT Setjonegoro Hospital, Wonosobo. Research Method : A case study method was applied, including assessment, analysis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Results : The results indicated that handgrip therapy using a rubber ball stimulated muscle contraction, enhanced motor strength, and improved patient independence in daily activities. Recommendations : This therapy is simple, low-cost, and can be performed independently by patients. The case study is expected to provide evidence-based practice for nurses in delivering effective interventions for stroke patients with motor strength problems.
