Abstract
Background: In children aged 6 months to 5 years, 2-5% experience febrile seizures. Most mothers feel afraid when their child has a febrile seizure, even though seizures usually have a good prognosis and can resolve on their own. Maternal behavior based on knowledge certainly influences the actions taken to treat and manage febrile seizures. Objective: The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and management of febrile seizures in toddlers at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Methods: The research is a type of quantitative research with cross sectional study design. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The number of respondents was 32 people with accidental sampling technique. The data obtained were statistically processed using the Chi Square test. Results: Based on the results of the analysis obtained that of the 32 research respondents, the average age of respondents was 23-45 years (90,6%). With the level of education most of them have a high school education, namely 56,3%. The result of this study showed 50,0% respondents had good knowledge and 43,8% had good implementation. Recommendation: Future researchers can use more effective techniques in the future regarding the knowledge status of febrile seizures and efforts to treat febrile seizures in young children.
