Abstract

Background Stunting is a manifestation of child growth failure caused by malnutrition, recurrent infections and inadequate psychosocial stimulation characterized by height below the standard deviation (height/age). The negative impacts caused by stunting include impaired cognitive development and learning achievement, impaired physical growth, impaired body metabolism, immunity, degenerative diseases and decreased productivity. One of the efforts made to overcome stunting is the provision of additional food (PMT) which is designed to provide additional nutrition for children or toddlers with stunting. The general objective is to determine the effect of the Implementation of the Local PMT (Supplementary Food Provision) Program on the risk of growth disorders in stunted toddlers in Blederan Village, Mojotengah, Wonosobo. Method of this project based learning implements local PMT targeting 4 stunted toddlers with the criteria of being 0-59 months old and having a height less than the standard deviation of TB/A. Implementation is carried out by providing local PMT for 56 days and monitoring height every week. Toddler height is measured before and after the implementation of local PMT. The results of this Project based learning are toddlers who participated in the implementation of local PMT as many as 4 children with the characteristics of 2 (50%) male toddlers and 2 (50%) female toddlers aged 0-12 months 1 (25%) toddler, 13-14 months 2 (50%) toddlers and 37-48 months 1 (25%) toddler and as many as 4 (100%) toddlers experienced an increase in height. Recommendations for the implementation of local PMT have a good effect on the growth of height of stunted toddlers, therefore programs related to nutritional fulfillment are very good for toddlers who have short or very short heights so that their height can increase.
