Abstract

Background: Hypertension in pregnancy is a vascular disorder that occurs before or during pregnancy. In Indonesia, this condition is the second leading cause of maternal death after bleeding, accounting for approximately 30%. One common nursing problem associated with pregnancy-induced hypertension is ineffective peripheral perfusion, which refers to reduced blood flow in the small blood vessels (capillaries), thereby disrupting the body's metabolic processes. To help improve blood circulation, murottal therapy and slow deep breathing techniques can be used. General objectives: To provide nursing care for pregnant women with hypertension experiencing the nursing problem of ineffective peripheral perfusion at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This scientific paper uses a case study design with a sample of five patients. The results of nursing care: After implementing the nursing interventions of murottal (Surah Al-Mulk) and slow deep breathing for three consecutive days, patients experienced a reduction in blood pressure. Mrs. B’s blood pressure decreased from 168/109 mmHg to 135/83 mmHg; Mrs. R’s from 171/110 mmHg to 119/79 mmHg; Mrs. Y’s from 153/92 mmHg to 122/78 mmHg; Mrs. E’s from 143/91 mmHg to 125/79 mmHg; and Mrs. I’s from 160/123 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg. Recommendations: Murottal and slow deep breathing therapy can serve as non-pharmacological alternatives in managing hypertension during pregnancy and provide useful information for the broader community.
