Abstract

Background, Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a medical condition in which blood pressure exceeds normal limits. This condition occurs when the systolic pressure (first number) exceeds 140 mmHg and the diastolic pressure (second number) exceeds 90 mmHg. Purpose of the Research, This study aims to determine the level of adherence to taking medication for hypertension patients in the elderly in Pagubugan Kulon Village. Research Method, This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach., The sampling technique in this study is total sampling. The research instrument for the medication adherence variable was the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale 8-items (MMAS-8) questionnaire. Results of the Study, The results of the univariate analysis in this study were obtained Research that has been carried out by researchers shows that the level of adherence to taking hypertension medication for the elderly is 85% in the compliance category. In conclusion, respondents are expected to continue to take hypertension medication Recommendations for future researchers, This study can be the basis for exploring the extent of adherence to taking hypertension medication
