Abstract

Background: Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure to ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure to ≥90 mmHg in individuals measured in a calm/relaxed state twice within 5 minutes. Headache is one of the most common complaints experienced and has a major impact on public health. The pain that arises can be local pain located around the compression site or referred pain that is felt at least 1 cm outside the local pain area. Non-pharmacological management includes using relaxation techniques in the form of massage, one of which is myofascial release therapy (MRT). Purpose: Explaining the analysis of nursing care for hypertensive patients with the main nursing diagnosis of acute pain with innovation myofascial release therapy (MRT) in the emergency room of RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Results: After conducting an assessment, the results showed that the five patients experienced acute pain nursing problems. The main intervention in this study was administration myofascial release therapy (MRT). The results after administering acute pain therapy were partially resolved with a decrease from moderate pain scale (4-6) to mild pain scale (1-3) and myofascial release therapy (MRT) is effective in reducing acute pain in hypertensive patients. Recommendation: It is hoped that future researchers will be able to examine the provision of therapy myofascial release therapy (MRT) in anxiety patients.
