Abstract

Background, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a serious condition that is one of the main problems in global health. CKD is not only a direct cause of death. Treatment of CKD patients is one of them with hemodialysis. When the patient is undergoing hemodialysis, nursing problems of grief and loss will arise. The way that can be done to control grief and loss is by applying positive affirmation actions. Objective: To comprehensively describe the analysis of nursing care in the context of grief and loss in patients with chronic kidney disease who are undergoing hemodialysis at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital, with a focus on an in-depth understanding of the process of grief and loss and its impact on patients. Methodology: In this case, the researcher collected data from 5 patients with chronic kidney disease who underwent hemodialysis with grief and loss problems and documented nursing care through positive affirmation therapy nursing interventions. Results, based on a case study conducted on 5 patients with positive affirmation therapy for 5 meetings, the results were obtained that after being given therapy, the ability increased by 100% and the patients experienced a decrease in the CGI (Complicated Grief Inventory) scale, which was 5 patients (100%). In conclusion, effective positive affirmation therapy measures are given to overcome nursing problems of grief and loss.
