Abstract
Background Hypertension is a medical disorder where the symptoms are followed by an increase in blood pressure, especially when systolic pressure exceeds 130 mmHg and diastolic pressure exceeds 80 mmHg. Non-pharmacological approaches have an important role in controlling blood pressure, especially in reducing the risk of drug side effects and improving the quality of life of patients. Hypertension can be overcome by applying Slow Stroke Back Massage reflexology. This technique increases relaxation, reduces stress, and causes blood vessel dilation, so that blood pressure decreases significantly. General objective To explain the analysis of clinical nursing practice in hypertensive patients with the main nursing problem of acute pain by providing SSBM (Slow Stroke Back Massage) therapy at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods This research method uses a descriptive method by analyzing the action of providing SSBM (Slow Stroke Back Massage) therapy to hypertensive patients with the main nursing problem of acute pain. Result The nursing problem of the case study of the five patients is acute pain, the planned intervention for the diagnosis of acute pain uses non-pharmacological pain management based on evidence-based nursing practice with the application of Slow Stroke Back Massage to reduce pain levels and blood pressure, the implementation carried out in reducing pain levels and blood pressure is by doing slow massage on the back 1x for 3 meetings, in the evaluation obtained in the five patients the problem of persistent acute pain has not been resolved but from the results of observations it was found that there was a significant decrease in pain levels and blood pressure. Recommendation The results of this study are expected to be a reference for patients and their families in dealing with acute pain and high blood pressure with slow stroke back massage therapy exercises which can then be applied in everyday life.
