Abstract

Background: LBW is one of the risk factors that contribute to infant mortality, especially during the perinatal period. According to the results of RISKESDAS in 2013 based on the 2014 Health Profile of the Republic of Indonesia, there were 10.2% of infants experiencing LBW. One way to care for infants with LBW is nesting, aimed at increasing comfort so that it will increase temperature and stabilize vital signs which is expected to also increase infant growth. Objective: To analyze nursing care using Nesting Innovation in cases of LBW with Hypothermia Nursing Problems in the Melati Room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto HOSPITAL. Method: In this case study, an assessment method using a nursing care format was used, the instruments used were a thermometer, nesting observation sheet, hypothermia observation sheet, carried out on 2 patients for 3 days. Nursing Care Results: After nursing care was carried out for 3 days on By. IB with the provision of nesting in the case of LBW from the first day to the third day, the condition of By. Mrs. IB has shown improvement but not too significant. from the nursing problems found, the following evaluation results were obtained: after being given nesting, the problem of ineffective breathing pattern nursing was resolved, where on the third day the results of vital signs were obtained within normal limits, namely temperature, 36.70 C, HR: 132 x / minute, RR: 56 x / minute, SPO2: 98%, no chest retraction, no peripheral cyanosis, oxygen was no longer attached. Recommendation: It is hoped that the nesting care method will be applied more to LBW patients, for further researchers it is hoped that it will be applied to patients other than LBW.
