Abstract

Background: Hypertension is usually called high blood pressure. Where it can be said that someone has hypertension if their systolic and diastolic blood pressure has risen above 140/90 mmHg. Foot Massage therapy is a complementary therapy that functions to lower and stabilize blood pressure because it can have a relaxing effect on stiff muscles resulting in vasodilation which causes blood pressure to fall steadily. Foot massage aims to lower blood pressure, reduce the heart's pumping activity, and reduces the shrinking of the walls of the fine arteries so that the pressure on the walls of the blood vessels is reduced and blood flow becomes smooth so that blood pressure will decrease Aim: The general aim of writing this Final Scientific Paper for Nurses is to explain the analysis of nursing care for hypertension sufferers using foot message therapy to reduce blood pressure in the emergency room, Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Method: This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects of the study were 5 hypertensive patients experiencing acute pain. The instruments used included nursing care formats, Nursing Kits, and SOPs for foot massage actions. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively. Data are presented in the form of tables and narratives. Results: In hypertensive patients, the main complaint was acute pain in the head on a scale of 4-6. The priority nursing diagnosis is acute pain related to hypertension. Nursing interventions and implementation include assessing pain scales, measuring vital signs, and applying foot massage. Evaluation showed the pain was reduced to a scale of 1-2 after the foot massage was applied. Foot massage has been proven to be effective in reducing pain in hypertensive patients. Recommendation: The application of foot massage therapy to hypertensive patients with acute pain has proven to be effective in reducing the pain scale and improving the patient's well-being. This therapy can be used as part of comprehensive nursing care for hypertensive patients.
