Abstract

Background: Immunization is a very important basis for the health of babies for immunity and body resistance. Data obtained from immunization evaluations from 2015 to 2017 shows that immunization coverage reached 86.54% in 2015 and increased to 91.12% in 2017. Immunization will cause pain in babies, so it is necessary Non-pharmacological measures can be taken to reduce pain, including giving warm compresses and breastfeeding. Objective: To Analyzing nursing care providing warm compresses and breastfeeding to reduce pain in babies during immunization. Method: This scientific paper uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 babies who experienced pain during immunization. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results:. The nursing problems that emerged in the five patients were hypothermia and acute pain diagnosis. Interventions include warm compresses and breastfeeding. From the results of implementing and measuring pain using the FLACC measuring scale, it was found that the five patients experienced a decrease in pain scores after carrying out warm compresses and breastfeeding. The average pain score was 4, namely moderate pain, and decreased to 0, namely no pain. Conclusion: Mothers can take innovative actions such as warm compresses and breastfeeding to reduce pain during the next immunization.
