Abstract

Background: This cancer can attack anyone and in any part of the body, and in all age groups, but cases show that most people are over 40 years old. Based on the narrative of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, they stated that anxiety can occur at any time, whether they are worried about the course of chemotherapy, the effects of chemotherapy or even experience anxiety about living their lives in the future. Measuring anxiety in this study used the HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression) instrument, which is a tool for measuring anxiety in patients in hospital. This instrument consists of 14 questions. Based on a preliminary study conducted on May 8 2024, data was obtained for cancer patients in regular inpatient rooms as many as 272 people with an age range of 30-80 years. Objective: To Analyzing nursing care providing acupressure therapy for anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in the Inayah ward of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Method: This scientific paper uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. This interview uses the HADS instrument which consists of 14 questions with a score of 0 - 7 not anxious, 8 - 11 moderately anxious and 12 - 21 severely anxious or depressed. Result : The nursing problem that emerged in the five patients was anxiety. The intervention that will be carried out is providing acupressure therapy. Of the five patients, the highest anxiety score was in the fifth patient and the lowest anxiety was in patient 2, the average decrease in anxiety score was 5. Conclusion: Acupressure therapy can help reduce anxiety levels in patients. Breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Recommendation: It is hoped that the hospital has a policy of sending several nurses to carry out acupressure training.
